Khairy: Papagomo Not Under Umno’s Payroll

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 FEBRUARY, 2012: Not all cybertroopers are under the payroll or controlled by any political party, said Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
Khairy (pic) denied the claims by certain quarters that linked Papagomo with Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).
He was responding to a question by a participant during Worlds Bloggers & World Social Media Summit who asked what action is Umno planning to take against Papagomo, a pro-Umno blogger notorious for his profane blog posts, as the blog represents the party's machinery through contains 'unethical' contents.
"The mistake people do is that they associate Papagomo with Barisan Nasional, whilst he has nothing to do with the party.
"He is on his own and we do not control him," he said in the forum on the 'Impact of Social Media in Malaysian Politi-x and What's the Challenge'.
He added that Umno Youth has its own social media machinery which is New Media Unit (UMB) helmed by Tun Faisal Ismail.
The World Bloggers & Social Media Summit which is held from Feb 13-14 is part of the Malaysia Media Social Media Week (MSMW) 2012 event which is being held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) from Feb 13-17.
